The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds, such as books, papers and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.

- High School diploma or GED Required
- Bachelor's degree Preferred
- Texas CDL Driver's License, Class A or B, with P and S endorsements Or must be able to attain within 120 days of hired date
- Pass an Annual Physical Per (DOT) Department of Transportation
- Texas School Bus Driver Certification or obtain within 120 days
- Texas Association for Pupil Transportation Certification (TAPT) Certified or willing to obtain certification as Pupil Transportation Official, Supervisor, Specialist or Trainer
- Must complete Supervisor Training- Drug Detection and Deterrence as required by CFR 49 Part 40 within one year of employment
- Must complete two-day Vehicle Collision Investigation through TASB within one year of employment
- Minimum of 3 years in the transportation industry in a lead or supervisory role, preferred
- Ability to work effectively with campus principals, staff, students, and parents
- Strong organization skills and group presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and well developed written and verbal communication skills
- Possess a mechanical aptitude and strong leadership skills
- Computer literate, preferable in word processing, power point and spreadsheets
- Basic math skills, detail orientation, mapping and routing skills

Additional Information
- Condition include operating in inclement weather, heat and humidity, enduring a bumpy ride, and exposure to possible injury due to traffic accidents. Must be physically able to climb in and out of the school bus emergency doors to evacuate the bus in an emergency. There is considerable exposure to dust, traffic fumes, and high noise level from both outside traffic as well as from passengers. Due to the nature of the position, being available after hours, weekends, and holidays is required. "On call" situations are to be expected.
